Escondidas. 2021.
Set of three paintings - Acrylic on canvas, 50x70 cm
These works present bodies hidden among flowers and seek to address the fears and taboos that still plague 21st century women.
From nipples that cannot be shown to the idea of female pleasure, the taboos and restrictions imposed on the female body deserve to be discussed and demystified, as they should have no place in today's age.
In these paintings, women emerge as a symbol of a generation proud of its roots and conscious of its worth, celebrating the intrinsic wonder of the female body through the flowers growing on it. Each blooming petal is an affirmation of the beauty and strength that resides in the female body, thus challenging the misperceptions of the past and celebrating the true essence of femininity.
